“My practice is focused on still life photography, photo compositing and film. My work is heavily influenced by the philosophy of perception, the symbolic nature of how we as individuals view reality and how that conditions the way we live in the world.
Some of the artists I’ve been especially drawn to are Man Ray, Kandinsky, Tapies, H. P. Robinson, Warhol and O’Keefe.
As for my creative process, I work in studio with very common objects and materials. I’m very rigorous in creating the composition and color palette, and at the same time I find beauty and a rush, almost, in the randomness of what happens to those carefully placed elements once my perspective starts to change as I work with them.
I would say that I aim to create scenes as those described by Aldous Huxley: ‘Coloured geometries, animated architectures, rich with gems and fabulously lovely, landscapes with heroic figures, of symbolic dramas trembling perpetually on the verge of the ultimate revelation’.“
