EDUARDO ELOY was born in Fortaleza, Brazil in 1955. His work involves drawing, engraving and painting, all of them mediated by a diversity of materials and media, as well as digital processes. He began his path through the visual arts during the early eighties at Escola de Artes Visuais do Parque Lage (EAV), in Rio de Janeiro. A school that is famous for the formation of a new generation of artists in the Brazilian contemporary art scene, well known in Brazil as Geração 80 (80’s Geeration). Eduardo’s overall production shows material and spiritually the crossing borders of multiple languages, which reveal themselves in news forms of making. A trace connected with his graphics experiences in all types of engraving techniques, that’s been the background for all of his visualities. The work itself shows its procedural dimension. Time, memory and everyday life are definitely some of his lines of force, deeply implied in his creating procedures.
