Henrique Montanari aka EDMX was born in Sao Paulo, Brasil in 1977. He has a master Degree in Fine Arts (University of Sao Paulo) and have been working with design since 1996. In 2002 he moved to Toronto, where in 2003 he earned a Post Graduation in 3d Digital Animation at Seneca College.
He moved back to Sao Paulo in 2004 and began to work with animation collaborating with many studios between Brasil, England and USA. The coorporate work was taking to much time of his life, so after 10 years working with animation and seating in front of the computer, Henrique decide to change and use his knowloedge of multiple plataforms to dedicade himself more to his artwork production inside and outside the studio.
He won top 5 at Zupi Awards 2015, category Illustration and 2th and 3rd place on the American Art Awards 2017 ,category Pop Art and Acrilic Human Figure. He also was invited to paint at one of the most importants Graffiti Festivals in Netherlands, Step In The Arena 2017 and 2018.
His work have been published and shown in many galleries and streets around the world.
I use different media in my artistic work as painting, graffiti, collage and 3d, with the objective of passing a positive message about life and questioning contemporary social and cultural moments. Born in São Paulo, I learned to see the beautiful in the midst of chaos, making street art and underground culture ever present.
